Misako Akama  started playing violin at the age of 3 and

studied with Seiji Kageyama at TOHO High School of Music, and at TOHO University until 2013.

In 2013, she entered  the Paris Conservatoire, to study with Roland Daugareil, was awarded her Bachelor’s degree in 2015, and now continues her studies towards her Masters.

Misako has been a laureate of several international competitions including Henri Marteau and Long Thibaud Crespin, and was the winner of the Varna International Competition.  As a soloist, she has played with New Japan Philharmonic and Hofer Symphoniker.

Misako plays a 1735 violin by Nicolas Gagliano loaned to her by the Zilber Foundation
