Portuguese violinist André Gaio Pereira began his studies at the age of seven and made his solo debut two years later. A prize winner at several competitions, he has appeared as a soloist with the Gulbenkian, Metropolitana and Algarve Orchestras.

André is a founding member and the first violin of the Tagus Quartet, comprising Chamber Music Fellows at the Royal Academy of Music, and with whom he has appeared at Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall.

In the 2015/2016 academic year he was distinguished as the highest graduand at the RAM, where he is now pursuing a Masters Degree with the generous support of ABRSM, Countess of Munster Musical Trust and Gulbenkian Foundation.
