Violist Yue Yu was a major-prize winner at the 2017 Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition. As a soloist, her stage appearances have included Birmingham Town Hall where she performed Bruch’s Romanze and Bradshaw Hall at the Royal Birmingham Conservatory where she performed Hindemith’s Der Schwanendreher. Next year, she is to be the soloist in the Bartók Viola Concerto, with the RBC Symphony Orchestra.

Yue is also passionate about chamber music. She participated in many festivals, with the likes of Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival in South Africa, Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival in Wales. She enjoyed playing with her string quartet group Fletcher Quartet, sadly they disbanded in June 2018, but also always enjoys playing other types of chamber music such as piano chamber music and string duos.
