THE PRELIMINARY JUDGING IS OVER: HERE IS OUR LINE-UP FOR THE SEMI FINALS IN JANUARY
The semi-finalists are a diverse a group as the competition entry. For the next round we have three Brits, two Kiwis, two French, and one each from Cuba, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Austria, Germany, Morocco and Japan.
That’s three violins, cellos, flutes and pianos, two clarinets, and one viola .
Among the schools and colleges, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland have most students in the semi-finals, closely followed by the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal Northern College of Music.
Our youngest semi-finalist isn’t at a specialist school at all.
Meet them all below. And see who’s on the judging panel for the semi-finals here.
